How to make an Outdoor banner

1. Always choose a suitably graded vinyl material capable of outside elements such as wind and rain.
   The key to making an outdoor banner is material. We only use Quality Santex, Commander and AK420 vinyl material. 
    

2. Choose if the location of your outdoor advertising banner sign will be fitted to a wall, or strung between fittings such as posts.
    

3. If your sign is to be strung between posts or tied, we sew the rope the entire length of the banner, This increase the strength of the material.
    

4. Adding reinforced eyelets (grommets) to you material is key. From behind, before punching the eyelet, add a small triangle shaped vinyl patch.
   This will ensure bounce back and not cut into the rim area of the material.

Always choose the best materials. Banners will be outside in the wind.

5. Making your graphics is key to getting more and more customers. Keep your photographic images high resolution, Take the best photo you can on the highest setting on your digital camera.
    

6. If you can create your own graphics, remember that signs are made big. Always keep your files at a large size.
    

7. Break any font or letter style you have used into an 'object view'. This means, do not just type in a font an send. You must (if using Illustrator, create outlines) (if using Corel Draw, Convert to Curves) this will reduce the font to a scalable object.
    

8. Remove any outlines you may have put on any object. In most cases, outlines do not scale up to big images. Better to use a Contour tool or weld overlapping areas together. A great webzine on this drawing technique can be found here.
